Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. After her father's departure from her household, the actress was grew up by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. As a young girl, she was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder. She also experienced anxiety due to the word"association. Ford's passion for acting started as a child. Ford joined at the National Youth Theatre. After being accepted at the Sylvia Young Theatre School for a short time however, Ford realised that it was not the right venue for her. Ford rather applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama and was able to secure a place on her fourth application. One of her classmates included Shaun Dingwall, who would be later reprise her role in the role of Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford earned her bachelor's degree in 1993. However, prior to that, Ford made a television debut, appearing in Surgical Spirit in an episode that aired in the year 1991. Ford took the professional title of Catherine Tate. Tate made appearances on television during the Nineties through shows like The Bill and Men Behaving Badly. Tate also performed regularly in theatres, before eventually being a part of with the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2000-2001 season. Tate started to get noticed for her stand up comedy in the year 1996.
