Awkwafina

American actor and musician Awkwafina debuted with sly hip-hop tracks that addressed racial identity and sexuality with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical encounter. She was a trumpet player. She also received classical and jazz training later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism and women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a time. Following graduation, she decided to concentrate on music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained also were viral songs like Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$1. The track that was published is directly linked to the album The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. As a musician and an author on her resume she began looking for acting in a third project. She's appeared in movies such as Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered a number of notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her new EP "In Fina We Trust".
