Awkwafina She is an American performer and actor who started her career by performing clever rappers, which explored issues of race and sexual identity with humor that was bold and witty. Then she moved on into Hollywood. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was in the form of the trumpet. Also, she received classical and jazz training later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. Concentrating on school she studied journalism as well as women's studies. She even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. When she graduated, she started to devote her time to music. Her hit song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity across the Internet in 2012. It eventually made it in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also had songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown in NYC Bitche$. This latter song was directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC and 2015 travel guide. She decided to pursue acting careers following her completion of two endeavors, author and musician. She's appeared in movies like Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered numerous important roles such as Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
